Samsung Genio Slide Overview

The Samsung Genio Slide has a 2.9 inch touchscreen with a QWERTY keyboard which slides out showing colorful panels targeted for social networking.

Product Description:
It has an A-GPS location finder on-board which is satellite- based. Downloading and uploading speeds are excellent. Applications such as Bebo, Facebook and MySpace are installed. In the UK the Samsung Genio Slide comes with a BBC iPlayer application whereby one can watch TV and radio programs live. Mobile TV services are also pre-loaded. 3G feature facilitates video calling. It has a camera which is front facing and a 3.2 mega pixel back camera. Mobile music lovers have a 3.5 mm headphone socket on the top. The back panels are swappable. The clip- on covers are in black, retro swirly pattern and two white ones. The sides have the camera, screen locking and unlocking, the volume and zoom and a Micro USB port. The spring slider QWERTY keyboard is smooth and operable by twin thumb tapping. The screen can be switched to portrait or landscape. There are 4 buttons on the keypad.

Technical specifications
The Samsung Genio Slide is a handset which is 3G enabled and has a HSDPA data support up to 7.2 Mbps and an integrated Wi-Fi. It has dimensions of 57x105x16 mm and weighs about 135g. The touchscreen display is of 2.8 inch of QVGA (249x329) pixels. The operating system is proprietary and the coverage is Quad band. The talk time offered is up to 8 hours 10m and the standby time is up to 560 hours. It has a camera, a video camera, an audio player, a video player, an FM radio and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. It also comes with a 2GB MicroSD card and memory card up to 16 GB. On the top of the phone is a 3.5 mm headphone socket.

The Good
The Wi-Fi and HSDPA are of high speed and give good connectivity. The slide out keyboard is very useful. The widgets can be controlled with touchscreen features. The technology used is A-GPS satellite positioning. The swappable covers are of top attraction. The social networking applications are excellent along with a BBC iplayer which is pre-installed.

The Bad
The resistive touchscreen control is not very good. The screen dimensions are only 2.8". The camera does not have auto-focus and flash features. The video recording is not of high quality. The email wizard set up is a little complicated.

The Bottom Line
The Samsung Genio slide is a touchscreen phone with high end features offered at an affordable price.
